Werewolf: Rockefeller Plaza
Welcome to 30 Rock bitches!
Characters:
Liz Lemon: Liz has the Liz Lemon Party Dance charm. The first time Liz is fired she is back the next day. The second time she leaps from her apartment window and is dead.
Jenna Maroney: Villager role. She has the power of “Wrath of the Crazy.” When she is fired she chooses a player to go psycho on, and that player is scared into silence the next day until 1 hr from night.
Tracy Morgan: Seer, if he picks Jenna she will appear as a wolf to him. Jack knows how important to the show Tracy is. If Tracy is targeted by the wolves on nights one or two, Jack has second thoughts and fires Griz or Dot Com instead.
Griz: Villager role
Dot Com: Villager role
Lutz: Villager role
Frank: Villager role
Pete: Villager Role.
Twofer: villager role
Cerie: Villager Role. She has the power of Hottie Persuasion. If there is a tie, she can choose to change Frank, Lutz, or Pete’s vote to match hers. This is done privately via email to the mod. (If there are not enough players this role will be eliminated)
Dr Leo Spacemen: Villager role
Kenneth Ellen: Angel. If he is targeted on days one or two by the wolves, Devon goes for the kill but cannot resist Kenneth and tries to make sweet love to him instead, and Kenneth survives (though is scarred for life). His angel power is effective EVERY night that he is alive. If he is fired during the day he hangs around the building and still gets a pick that night.
Jack Donaghy: Wolf. Jack has the power of executive decision. He can fire (kill) anyone on the show, once during the game, at any time. If he fires Liz she is back the next day. The player will email the mod their choice for their kill during the day (once per game) and the mod will immediately put that person in jail to be killed that evening with the days lynching. If he chooses liz the power is used and cannot be used again. The power can also be used at night so that the wolves get two kills that night.
Colleen Donaghy: Wolf.
Devon Banks: Wolf. If Kenneth is lynched on day one or two, Devon loses his willpower and his vote will not count the next day. This will be done privately.
Don Geiss: Wolf
Roles and names will be revealed upon death, only the wolves and jenna and tracy will know their roles. Days Begin at 9am CST and end at 9pm CST. If there is a tie at the end of the day the Overtime round begins, in which there are 30 minutes to change votes. At the end of 30 minutes, night is declared and if there is still a tie, dice will be rolled to determine the loser.

this game is ready to run barring any major objections by players. I’m ready to go whenever the next slot opens.

This might be really tough on wolves if there’s no chance to kill the seer until night three. Also, you’ll have to make it so it’s not easy to just role claim.
January 19, 2012 at 12:10 pm
Grey
Yeah I thought about the seer being so powerful, but something has to counter jack. besides he can die on day two and will definitely if he’s targeted night one. I should clear that up now:
If kenneth is targeted night one he survives, but night two he wouldn’t survive again, but devon would lose his vote the next day. The chance of nailing the seer on nights one or two are super slim anyway.
I think i’ve eliminated the role claiming thing by not telling the players their names, unless they are the wolves or jenna or tracy. The Cerie role can be done by me by email, meaning when and if there’s a tie I would email that player and inform them that they are cerie and that they can choose the tiebreaker. I would require that the player keep that information secret or be mod-killed. This sucks a little for that player, but it’s better for the game.
Also, all names and roles are revealed at death.

Ah, yes, if you don’t tell people who they are that helps.

I think the current queue is:
Justified – DK
Rome – Greek
Arrested Development – MBN (which, by the way, is a good way for people to abbreviate my name… since there doesn’t seem to be a standard form).
I’ll put up more info about Arrested Development once we get closer to the game.

LoisLane has a Back to the Future game in the works, but I’ve only heard about it second-hand, and not for a while now. Stick that after yours for the time being.
I have like three minutes of department setup to do, and then I have to look busy for 27 more before we open. Ugh.

It’s getting done, I swear! I just need to make this thing nuclear and we’ll be good to go!

MBN is no good. That’s three syllables I have to pronounce in my head and I refuse to go more than two.

Novak works.

Yup. I know four Matts, so we always called each of them by their last name. I’m afraid Novak is going to end up being no different.

Which reminds me, my screen name is terrible and I need to come up with one that doesn’t use numbers. I picked this to play some stupid NBA.com fantasy basketball game back in 2003 and unfortunately it stuck.

I was thinking I might set up a different account and such too. I kind of like Beau’s anonymity thing. If I ever sign up for WGOM, maybe I’ll make them both the same.

Oh, I’ve also got a Firefly themed game too, if people are interested in that property. Some of the ideas for that one could be used in different properties too, but I like the way I’ve got it laid out.

Pfft, like anyone here would be interested in working with a show that couldn’t last more than one season…

January 19, 2012 at 11:59 am

I have a game idea that’s pretty vanilla, but with a twist.
The sweet spot for the game is 12 players. There are four roles-
Seer, Fake Seer (will receive a random role), Angel, Fake Angel (the angel will submit a pick but it won’t do anything).
and three wolves.
The seer roles and angel roles will be assigned separately, so you could be both seer and angel, or fake seer and fake angel.
This is the interesting part- there is a secret rule to the game for the villagers to figure out. The wolves will know what the rule is. Every day the village will submit one guess (with a majority of the players accepting that guess) as to what the rule is. If they get it correct by day three, the wolves will not get a kill that night. If they don’t guess correctly the wolves get two kills that night.

Ok, so then it looks like we’ve got something like:
Justified – DK
Rome – Greek
Arrested Development – MBN
Back to the Future – LoisLane
30 Rock – Grey
Firefly – MBN
Vanilla Twist – KG
And then it’s 2013…

My Final Fantasy themed game should be in there somewhere, assuming we’re still playing after all that time. I need some major time to work on it, though.
January 19, 2012 at 12:26 pm

…if we’re still playing… what’s wrong with you?
So is this an early FF theme? If so, I assume we have to cast our votes/powers a day in advance and wonder our target is there to use it on?

Yeah, I’m looking forward to DG’s spreadsheet after Werewolf 100.
January 19, 2012 at 1:06 pm
daneekasghost
As long as there are results to record, I will generate a spreadsheet to record them.
That’s not even a promise, just a fact of my life.
As an example, up until about 3 years ago, I used to keep detailed excel sheets with all of the Twins hitters’ and pitchers’ statistics for the entire season, essentially duplicating baseball-reference, but much less info and a lot less efficient. Why? who knows. I just had to do it.

It would be cross-generational, but there would certainly be something that would mimic that glorious ‘feature’ of the early FF games.

Also, I want to say how awesome it is to be playing these games with so many creative people. I love that everyone has different ideas for making these games different, and that there’s so many possibilities. Bravo to all.

Looking at my schedule for modding an Arrested Development game… It looks like the week of February 27th will really be my first opportunity to devote enough time to the game to be a moderator. I’m hoping it’s a really big game, because I’ve got a good number of potential roles and humorous afflictions (that I’m thinking about being assignable, ala Super Hero Town – probably only days 1 and 2, but maybe more, depending on how it goes).

I’m also working on a thought for a turbo game of “Calvin-Werewolf.”
The basic principle is that there will be no special roles, but that anyone can propose any rule at any time. Rules must be proposed directly to the mod, who will implement any rule that he seems reasonable to him, and will announce it on the board (so that no one knows who proposed a rule).
Each day will start with no rules, and rules that have existed on previous days can’t exist again (but variations are ok). Because, like Calvinball, the only real rule is that it can’t be the same twice.
February 13, 2012 at 5:58 pm

Love the idea, and trying it out on a turbo seems like a good idea.

A thought for when people are busier: two-day long days? This would give people plenty of time to chime in on a particular “day” when work/life is just too much. Drawback is that game may be too slow-paced and people are less focused.
May be an advantage to the villagers as it gives them more time to consider things, notice things. On the other hand, also gives wolves more time to review their own game and keep their stories straight.
Just something that crossed my mind.
