Hello there, final eighteen. This week we’ll be doing another individual challenge, and it’s a new one.

It’s called Dewey Defeats Truman although you don’t have to take it to that extreme. What you’ll do is take a news story (it doesn’t have to be a huge one, but it’ll work better if we’ve heard of it) and write a short news story as if an opposite, or very different, outcome had occurred. For instance, you could write about the Steelers winning this year’s Super Bowl, or you could write about the Goodyear blimp crashing and killing most of the players, rendering the game a draw.

Whether or not you go for comedy is up to you, and to be honest, I don’t really know what to expect or what the best entries will be like. We’ll limit them to 350 words because there are a total buttload of you left, and if you don’t find yourself needing anywhere near that many, don’t force it.

These are due Sunday by 6pm Central (yes, this was an edit because Beau has a commitment that afternoon) and as always, non-submitters will be worth negative one for their team. The lowest scoring team on the challenge will vote someone out (or rather the lowest-scoring team with a non-submitter, if applicable) and we’ll be ready for the next one.

Holy shit…I think I remembered everything this time.

Cheers, Survivors. Blow our minds.
