Hello, Houseguests. As Head of Household, it is Orgulas’ duty to nominate two players for eviction from the BB house. He has chosen to nominate:

Randy Boxer. “You are a quiet sort, and I fear your poison arrows.”

Corliss Blackbeard. “My people do not have a great history with men on boats.”

Now that nominations are made, we can begin our first Power of Veto competition. Remember, the Power of Veto gives the winner the ability to veto one of the HoH’s nominations and compel the HoH to make a replacement nomination. But first, since the rules explanation will get a little long, I’ll announce the three randomly chosen houseguests who will be competing in this challenge along with Orgulas, Randy, and Corliss. The Big Brother Randomizer has chosen:

Barnaby Winstringham, Kellifer Lumbermuffins, and El Burro Rosa. So you six, here’s the rules for your PoV challenge.

It’s another one I’ve, ahem, borrowed from site proprietor Spookymilk, and it’s called Knots. I think I’ll just copy his explanation of the rules:

Each of you are defending a thrice-knotted rope from being undone by the others.

On each turn, you name a Houseguest whose rope you’d like to attack, and no matter how many people attack that rope, only one knot will be undone on that turn.

HOWEVER, each person gets to defend his knot from two different people on each turn. If either (or both) of those people attempt to undo your knot, they will instead fall to their death and be knocked out of the running for PoV. ALSO, you cannot defend against someone you’re attacking. YOU CAN ALSO attack your own knot (it will be undone) if you’re too afraid that everyone’s defending against you (if you want to do this at the beginning, you will undo your own knot twice if you want to avoid attacking others). IF you attack your own knot, it will be undone a second time on that turn, in addition to any Houseguests who attacked it. This is the only way to lose two knots in a turn.

When we’re down to four people, play will change in that you can only defend your knot from one person.

When we’re down to two (if we don’t pass through it to one), the person with fewer knots undone will win the PoV.

If we get to two and the remaining players have the same number of knots undone, whomever undid more knots of other players without other players attacking those knots will win PoV. If that’s a tie, or we get down to zero on a turn, which is possible, Big Brother will ask the last set of players alive to guess a number he’s thinking of, and whomever is closest without going over that number will win PoV, because Big Brother does lots of random and arbitrary things.

Let me run through a sample game:

TURN ONE
Buster undoes Dick’s knot and defends from Isaac and Brant.
Dick undoes Buster’s knot and defends from Isaac and Dusty.
Dusty undoes Dick’s knot and defends from Brant and Buster.
Brant undoes Buster’s knot and defends from Dusty and Dick.
Isaac undoes May’s knot and defends from Buster and Dick.
May undoes Dusty’s knot and defends from Buster and Brant.

RESULT:
Brant FALLS TO DEATH (Buster is defending from him)
Dusty FALLS TO DEATH (Dick is defending)
Isaac undoes May’s knot once
Buster undoes Dick’s knot once
Dick undoes Buster’s knot once
May undoes Dusty’s knot once (meaningless, since he died)
THERE IS NOW only one defense per player.

TURN TWO
Isaac undoes May’s knot and defends from Buster.
Buster (x) undoes May’s knot and defends from Dick.
May (x) undoes Buster’s knot and defends from Dick.
Dick (x) undoes May’s knot and defends from Buster.

RESULT
Dick FALLS TO DEATH (May is defending)
May undoes Buster’s knot (that’s two now)
Buster undoes May’s knot (same)
Isaac also undoes May’s knot, but only one knot can be undone on a person per turn.

TURN THREE
May undoes Isaac’s knot and defends against Buster
Buster undoes Isaac’s knot and defends against May
Isaac undoes his own knot, assuming he’s being defended against

RESULT
May and Buster undo Isaac’s knot (one)
Isaac undoes his own knot (two)

TURN FOUR
May undoes Isaac’s knot and defends against Buster
Buster undoes Isaac’s knot and defends against May
Isaac undoes May’s knot and defends against Buster

RESULT
Buster FALLS TO DEATH (Isaac is defending)
Isaac undoes May’s knot (two)
May undoes Isaac’s knot (three, so he’s eliminated)

MAY WINS POV

A game of this can go much shorter than that, so we could move through this pretty quickly. I’ll set the first turn’s end at Tuesday (tomorrow) at 2 PM Central, and we’ll move along if everyone gets their moves in sooner. If any of the participants misses two turns of submissions for this, that will count as an official nonsub and receive one BB strike. I’ll post all the results, just as you see in the example, after each turn is completed.

Cheers, Houseguests.
