If you are on Android using the Gmail app (which you can use even if you don’t have gmail) then you go into settings, then click your email address, then under notifications you will see inbox sound & vibrate… make sure it says something like “sound on, notify once” and you should be good. If you use something else then… *shrug*

Your first post you say hi villagers (which I took as saying you were a villager). which is quickly folliowed up by karn with “noted”
Then later karn say it’s odd that uber says he’s a villager. (and admitting your new) you agree with karn even though a few people, including myself said we were villagers too.
I think one or both of you may be a villager from the initial conversations. Being new and agreeing with each other could be newb wolves teaming up. Under this scenario though it would make me think that either there isn’t a veteran wolf amongst you, or there was no gameplan amongst the wolves last night.
So that’s it in a nutshell. And with this being early day 1, it’s what I got so far that I’m willing to reveal.

See, novak gets it. We’re all wolves! I will point out though that as a son of a wolf, I did not necessarily inherit the sharp teeth or transformative abilities. I’m not really sure who the real wolves are yet. Grey and DP haven’t been around enough to judge yet. TDO seems to have taken up the mantle of telling everyone who the wolves are which is a good cover for actually being a wolf. Novak also seems to be good at making people listen to him without suspecting him. DG is so freaking wolfish in his responses that I can’t believe he’s a wolf but… It’s just crazy enough that it might work. Annette and Joe seem pretty cozy with each other. Could they be packmates?

The only reason it might be beneficial to lynch a villager is if it somehow protects the seer. Unfortunately there’s no way to tell who is a villager and who is a wolf. The first day usually ends up with someone being lynched just because.

Not “just because.” The whole point is to make sure people try to explain their votes, so we can go back an analyze the evidence to see whose votes seemed especially flimsy (like a wolf just trying to fit in). Day one is all about gathering evidence to use by day three (and hoping to snag a wolf in the process).

Karn, i usually tell people who the wolves are and die by villagers just so my tombstone can read I told you so.
I’m so villagery it seems i’m the only villager who never leaves. I should be mayor.
On the note about all of us being wolves, it would also be humorous if we are all villagers and spoky will just randomly kill someone off each night just to keep it going. That would be funny.
Serious note since we have a few new guys.
-Be careful getting too many votes on someone as it could accidently lead to majority ending the day before we may know anything. With 15 peeps 8 is majority right now so not much to worry about but in theory if karn gets one more vote (and assuming the 4 wolves haven’t voted) they could all jump on him to hit the 8 and end the day. (it would also draw attention in a bad way for wolves, which is good for us villagers)
-if a new player is the seer, please don’t come out as the seer unless you feel like you are being targeted and have valuable information. The flip side is don’t go too long without sharing valuable information or you could take it to your grave costing us. As noted before day 3 is typically a good time unless you got that whole tdo-spooky star wars double seer cluster f*ck going on.

Hey guys and Annette. What’s up? I’ll be on the road all day tomorrow, and, as Novak mentioned, the new job gives me much less ability to participate during the day.
I sort of like TDO’s inkarnit/gingefringe pairing as if one is a wolf trying to hide through the other, but then I often get suckered into finding something wolfy in newbies who don’t yet know how to make a good defense. I would be much more curious about them tomorrow seeing how today shakes out. I just don’t think a vote for either will necessary lead us anywhere this early.
DG’s just doing DG goofing off day one. I see nothing there that didn’t exist in most of his villager games. I’m usually pretty good at spotting DG as a wolf by day 3 (if he is one) and then failing to convince everyone else.
I always like a bhiggum vote simply because a) he’s the worst ever villager (see Justified), and b) he’s a pretty damn good wolf (see that stupid game with TAG)*. Oh, and he already has a vote so we can see how any pressure on him shakes out.
My grandpa just got in town, so I might be a little spotty tonight as I bring over his great-grandson to meet him for the first time. Plus, you know, Festival of Lights! Ubes, let’s light this** candle***!

So my current theory is that the wolves are Annette, ginge, inkarnit and TDO. With TDO being the mastermind wolf behind a bunch of new players. So seeing this he concocted a plan to call them out on their obvious wolfishness since he knew he was in trouble right off the bat being paired with all new players they wouldn’t be able to help but reveal themselves. But if he was the one who called them out and became the wolf killing star “villager”, well now he can go under deep cover for a few extra days using the whole “I’m always a villager” schtick to hide behind.

Interesting todahsy except two things.
1. you said my name in the same sentence with mastermind.
2. I’ve never been a wolf (and am still pure blood villager) so I would think I would act pretty far out there (even for me) in my first wolf game, to even be able to concoct a gameplan like that with 2 newbs let alone newb wolfs.
Good analysis though. Part of me is cautious about the ginge karn thing because I don’t want to lose focus on other people and get too narrow on 2 people and they could end up being villagers and we get nothing out of killing them which has happened before. Right now though that’s all I had at that point.
Right now, and I always put my foot in my mouth, but seems like a few people are conveniently busy for a while or rest of the night. Let’s just note that as it has been a wolf calling card in the past.

Not really unless it gets egregious. In the past, the Other Colin used to always bathe his kids around the deadline so it was annoying that he would be away, but it was also know. Also, nibbish and Greekhouse had to stop playing because they couldn’t participate due to work concerns. It’s when people just randomly pop only to revenge vote or when under duress that is a more of a red flag.

For the life of me I can’t figure out a way to explain that I’m not a wolf which won’t reinforce my perceived wolfishness to those who’ve voted for me. My lack of communication is due to me only having an occasional flash of attempted wit, and the rest is all echoes in my mind where deduction should be taking place.
The first days of Werewolf are always a crap shoot. All I can say is I’ve acted pretty much the same all day long, including those moments at the beginning where people thought I might be a wolf based on how I came out of the gate saying I wasn’t.

I’ve never been a fan of day one decisions, given how little we have to go on – it’s the way the vote will play out that is going to give us the most info. One thing I can say for sure – and this is a good thing for the newer players to know – it’s not a good idea to vote for non-active players. Not only would we be going on no information for the vote, but since that player hasn’t interacted with anyone, we get screwed on that side of things too.
I don’t have any good reads yet, though Novak stood out to me in one of his posts, and Nettie’s reactions to being voted on feel a little wonky.

Part of me thinks the newbness of ginge-karn could play out another day to see if its wolfy or newby being shown, we tend to kill new players pretty quick, but I wouldn’t be against a vote for either if we dont think we have much else. So as of right now, my favorite vote looks to be Uber. he’s being a little too careful, IMO, which can be a good indicator. Plus I like the idea of getting someone else up there in votes besides annette. Plus it’s getting toward the deadline. Plus Brooksy.

yeah, i get it. but the whole trying to protect yourself “for the village” argument doesn’t really fly, you know? in my mind the best way to hunt for wolves is to get in and engage, and then go back and analyze the conversations and look for whoever is trying to be careful with their posts vs who is actively hunting.

The analysis comes first to me. That’s how I always work on puzzles, and this game is a big ol’ puzzle. Maybe that’s why I’m not very good at it, but I’m more concerned with how uninformed defensiveness comes off in the eyes of others than I am reasoned (albeit late) conversation.

Given meat’s observation of the reaction to pressure, the fact that it’s likely a newb reaction if it isn’t a wolf reaction (which is, to me, less of a horrible mistake on day one than losing a veteran), and that any other vote might seem like piling on which would only garner me more wolf suspicion (but I’m afraid I’m on a rail as far as that goes now anyway, and I just gotta hope).

Are the cases against both Novak and uber supposedly the same? That they were loquacious without saying much? That Novak disappeared? That seems a little weak to me.
I’m still wary of voting off Ginge/inkarnit/Annette all because they are noobs without much history. (I didn’t mention Annette above, but the same reasoning applies.) But, Annette jumping on my flimsy case against bhiggs definitely makes her look the most wolfy of the trio. This also makes me a little wary of toadsy since he threw out the theory that all four wolves would be newbs (the true newbs, and TDO the newb-wolf). That seems like pretty low-hanging fruit.
Isn’t it about time for the meatwagon?

I haven’t seen much of a case against novak, though I did think a post of his earlier was a little off.
The reason I’m voting uber is that he’s the one that stands out as being most cautious about his posts which, for me, is usually a good sign that someone is a wolf.

My read on the day is that Annette seems the most wolfy. I just rechecked her first half of the day, and pretty much everything was either a joke or trying to actually suggest someone was a wolf, and is did it to a lot of different people, spreading it around. This is pretty aggressive for day 1, especially for a new player. Throw in the higgs jumping, and that seems like the way to go for me.

Important Note: Nothing is to be made of the “roles” you’re all playing in the flavor text. NOTHING can be gleaned from them, from a role standpoint, so don’t attempt to read into them.
Just down the road from Lecheville, the Assbutttown County Fair was in full swing. mbnovak, the world’s smallest man, and gingefringe97 the albino were working the freak show. Affable Sheriff Meat kissed hands and shook babies, or maybe the opposite. Colin repeatedly gave a different name to people when asked about his identity, driving the county moderators crazy. nettiebarron and todahshy made out on the ferris wheel.
But elsewhere, some of the fairgoers were grouping together to fight the rumored werewolf menace that had come from rival city Lecheville. “We ain’t a-feared o’you werewolves,” drawled drunken vagrant inkarnit, accusing Lecheville citizen uberminz. “We take things mighty seriously in Assbutttown.”
Before long, the fair took a dark turn as uberminz was tied to a stake. After the local rednecks figured out how to start a fire, they lit him ablaze to see what happened.
“Ooooooooohhhh,” they drawled in unison.
They were left with the charred remains of uberminz. He was as black as a phone, and as sad-looking as an unclosed parenthetical. Sadly, though, he was still clearly a villager.
“Well…at least that’ll learn Poindexter to try to analyze and make sense of things,” whined some indeterminate boob in the back.
Wolves, you have 90 minutes. Villagers, see ya tomorrow. You can gchat or email me to BS about the game, though.
