I’m kind of surprised you don’t know Parks and Rec. I think you’d really enjoy it. The first season is pretty rough, season 2 is solid but unspectacular. But season 3 and on… best comedy on TV. By a lot.

Season 3 and 4 are in my top 5 seasons for any comedy, and probably in my top 10 for favorite seasons of any show, period.
3 >= 4 > 2 > 5 > 6 >>> 1
It took Linds and I a while to get into the show, because the first season had very few of the things that would eventually make the show great, even in larval form. Going back and watching it, it’s really, really weird.

We were a little bummed initially when he wasn’t in season 3, but we got a levelled up Andy, plus Chris and Ben, so we got over it very quickly.
In retrospect, he is a lot of what’s wrong with the first couple of seasons.

The problem was that he and Ann were the two “straight” characters and they tried to pair them up. They figured out that problem by then turning Ann into a chameleon with her future boyfriends, but still it failed miserably at the time.

Im in agreement with Novak that the show is worth watching, but I wouldn’t say best comedy or anything. It does get very good as it goes along.

I’m off work today as Year End is over (I’m an accountant for those who didn’t know).
I’m also sick (most likely a head cold).
That said, my day will be spent playing this and Civ V as I dont feel like doing much else.
I’ve only seen Commercials for Parks and Rec (same for deadwood) We should do a Rescue Me or Sons of Anarchy theme sometime.
Someone has Netflix and Amazon Prime, whats the benefit of having both?

Benefit of having both is that Amazon had HBO shows, Netflix has House of Cards and a few other originals. Plus Amazon has free 2-day shipping.

Netflix “originals” keeps me having netflix. Prime shipping means I have Amazon TV and Music.
Amazon and Netflix’s streaming lineup’s overlap really sucks when you have both.
If you aren’t deep into amazon’s shipping and had to pick one I’d go with netflix. If you are I’d go the other way and have watch parties for HoC and Orange is the New Black if you go for those sort of things.
Also if you like friends, Netflix is a great value. /bait

I have both- Amazon Prime is mostly for the shipping benefits, but for streaming, it has FX and HBO shows on it that Netflix doesn’t have , and Netflix has more stuff for the kids to watch plus gets newer movies faster.

Let’s examine this. Werewolves are cousins to regular wolves, which means that their parents are siblings. If sibling rivalry is really a thing that means that parents of werewolves were really only trying to one-up their brothers or sisters who had wolf babies. So, all we need to do is figure out which of us has the most over-competitive parents and that will lead us straight to the werewolves.
So there’s something to work on.

It is only logical that when choosing an online avatar that a werewolf would pick something terrifying in order to try and intimidate villagers into leaving it alone. But it can’t pick a werewolf as its avatar because that would ruin the game and go against a werewolf’s natural sense of fair play. Got a few minutes in between jobs to catch up on the scant posts.
Right now my top suspects are inkarnit and nettie for two different reasons. Inkarnit has been very similar to last time, trying to joke and be nice to people but also a little bit of the flip floppiness he displayed last time with his interaction with TDO today (only legit convo of the day so far)
Annette just because she is really quiet and that does not seem like normal Annette (unless we need her to role claim ZINNNNNNNGGGGGG)

A wolf should be making good points. It makes them seem like a villager. The more the village moves things around and probes at people’s motives and gameplay, the harder it is for a wolf to stay consistent and actually helpful.
Silence is the worst possible play for the village. I have believed this for a long time (others will probably back me up on this). Pressure makes wolves have to think about what they’re doing, and that makes things hard.

I think those are the right questions to ask, but they can go either way, so it comes down to your reading (and everyone else’s) as to whether it’s a wolf-ish play or a villager play.
I would say villager on both of your parts, but there’s still lots more game left.

OK, here’s example 1 of exactly what I’m talking about.
I put one vote on yickit. That applied no pressure at all. He showed up, made a couple of comments and is gone again. He didn’t feel the need to address my vote on him because it’s only one vote, there’s no danger there. Tomorrow there’s yickit, still in the village, still with no comments of substance to his name. Is he a silent wolf, not saying anything that gives him away? Or is he a villager that it’s not worth it to the wolves to kill, because he’s obviously not going to sniff any of them out? So what does the village do about him then? What about on day 3?
I’m not saying let’s put 8 votes on him in 10 minutes and run him off to jail. I’m saying the village should make it clear that non-participation is a good way to get yourself put in jeopardy of being lynched, a message to yickit and any other wolf who might be considering staying out of the public eye that way.
Or vote for someone else, I don’t care who your vote is for, but we need some votes with reasoning behind them, and some comments on those votes so that we can come back to this later and figure out who was trying to nudge the village into killing the wrong player.

Just seems off to me. My day 1 gut was wrong last time but you have to go with someone eventually and he seems most suspicious to me.

Inkarnit’s number of comments theory is a horrible approach. The moment you start counting comments and targetting most or least or middlest the wolves will switch tactics. And then you’re looking for numbers instead of wolves, which isn’t helpful.
That said, a single comment and no appearance at all the rest of the day really sticks out to me, and some pressure on Gingefringe to, you know, show up, would be good.

No, see… the wolves aren’t beholden to your theory. If we all declare “we’ll vote for the lowest total of comments on day one” then the wolves have a safe haven. You’re not actually forcing them to talk more, unless we all agree to the theory. And if we do, making them talk more is, per se them not screwing up. And hypothetically if there was a tell that came out, which is doubtful enough, it would be a different kind of tell than the one you’re proposing using, which means that your theory is essentially “hey, this one arbitrary characteristic I came up with is a tell! Avoid having this tell so that I can vote for you, instead of the person exhibiting the arbitrary tell!” Madness.

The point is that silence is an easy play. Any other wolf play is harder. Taking silence off the table is worth it because it forces the wolves into a harder strategy.

bhiggum – Not much contribution, his votes just were always fluffy without any danger of consequence (or rationale). I don’t know. It’s the strongest feeling I’ve got right now.
novak – Not super involved and seemed kind of reluctant to put a vote behind his reasoning. Fair play to him, he did eventually vote, but the initial impression stands
nibbish – less so now, but he was in non-confrontational mode earlier today which always flips my trigger with him. Since I made myself aware of it, he’s been much more helpful, so I’m putting him at the bottom of my list.
Day 1 caveats abound. But hey, I’ve been yelling for rationales and argument, so here’s my money where my mouth is.

I’m of two minds on Inkarnit. First, I thought he was working hard to distance himself from his last game earlier today. It was more than just his lower comment total, there was a different tone too. Now, he’s slipped more back into last game, and I think he’s wolfy, but that might just be who he is. The other possibility is that he’s really pushing this “quiet people, look at the number of comments thing” as a n00b villager looking for something to hang his hat on. Or it could just be trying to sell wolf-hunting without actually coming up with anything. I’m willing to wait on him, but he’d better not slip through again this time.
