Ya know, I have many times lamented that dreaded word limit in that it never allowed me to tell the story I wanted to tell. Of course, I understood why it was there (judges can only read for so long), but I have been looking for something like this.
I would put my interested at an 80% likelihood.

Basically a story every other week? I would maybe be interested. The prompts would probably matter a lot to me though.

Hmm. You know how much I like PwtP, but I definitely do better with lower word limits. I get anxious when I have to write 1000 or even 800. So I think I’ll pass this time.

This is another thing that’s always perplexed me. You don’t have to write a lot of words just because you’re allowed to.

I’ve always assumed that the judges thought that it would take that many words to do a good job on a particular prompt. I didn’t want to be a total slacker and come in way under the limit! It seems totally disrespectful.
But you’re saying I could see 1250 and substitute 300 and it might be just fine?

Not only fine, but oftentimes better. More words don’t automatically suggest more work, and I’ve always been surprised at this idea that pervades the site where people think they have to use up all the words to compete with everyone else. It’s pretty common for me to reward shorter stories if they leave an impression.

I agree with that! “I didn’t have time to write a short letter, so I wrote a long one instead.” 🙂 In that case I’ll play, but I may not contribute any smart epics.

I’d probably play. There’s only so many words I can write in the half hour before the deadline though.

The word limit has definitely helped me, but I think I can just go on and impose my own now. (Yeah, right). Interested though!

I decided to read just the headline. I’m in…but what’s the word count?

No for me. Maybe next time.

I’d give this a try.

I’d do it. I know that sometimes it’s been beneficial to my story when I’ve been forced to trim the fat, so I’d probably enforce my own word limit that I’d keep to myself.

I’m interested.

I’d take part in this as well. Honestly it seems like it would make things more difficult for the judges than it would for the writers.

I’m totally not in. Unless unlimited also means “free to plagiarize”. I are the suck at writing compared to you professionals.

I’d be into this, but I do like me those Fiction 59 or short word counts too. How about a little bit of both? One week unlimited and the next a short word limit??? Variety is the spice of life.
