Seriously, though, coming up with intros is the bane of my existence. Just think, after this there will be twice as many players out of this game as there are still in the game.

Vote One: Fat Mabel. “You didn’t think we’d just roll over and let you win another one, did you?”

Vote Two: Mabel.

Vote Three: Mabel. “Thank you for saving me after I saved you. This vote sucks. The last couple votes have sucked. EVERY choice now feels like Sophie’s Choice. Except worse. Way worse.”

Girl, I hate to see you go, but I love to watch you leave.

OK, let’s move on to another challenge that deals with animals eating things. No lions, though, probably, unless you want, I guess. As always, as outgoing HOH, May will not be playing this challenge. The other four of you will be competing in a little game we call Zookeeper.

Of all the games we’ve ever done here at the CdL, this might be the one I understand how to play well the least. The good news for you guys is, you don’t need me to get the game, you just need me to run it!

Our good buddy Matt Novak wrote up a big set of rules for this game, which are here.

In short, the goal of the game is to end up with the most money. Each “day” consists of 3 rounds. In each round you will select 2 actions. The basic actions are “Acquire Food” “Build Fences” “Update Habitat” and “Acquire Animal.” You can select the same action twice within a round if you want to. You will be awarded various quantities of each of these items in each round. The distribution of those quantities can be found here. There are also special actions, described in the directions.

Then, at the end of each day, you will need to feed your animals and collect your earnings. The amount of food required and the amount of money you earn for the various items is described in the second tab of the previous link there.

Here and here are a couple examples of what this looks like after a game. Look at that Norway guy, he knew how to play this. On the other hand, that joker Gaspar did terrible, didn’t he? (Actually that second board might not be from the very end; Novak may have just tallied up the final scores without updating the board, but whatever).

The player with the most money at the end of the game will be the new HOH, and safe into the final four. Here’s how I’m planning this schedule wise: I’m going to be in and out on Saturday this weekend, and to give you guys time to digest the rules and ask me questions (and give me time to get you answers before the turn is due) we’ll make the first “day” (2 actions for each of 3 rounds) due Sunday night at 8 PM Central. After that, on Monday through Wednesday, we will do 2 “days” per day, most likely at 2 PM and 8 PM.

Let me know your questions, and good luck to you, Houseguests.
