So I leave my computer for the last hour last night and everything falls apart. So why in the world was Sherry voted last night?
I find DG’s vote on Sherry the most curious because that does not seem like a very DG thing to do.
However, I am more annoyed at the baseless accusation by Melissa that I would be anti-Ducktales. The Disney afternoon is the greatest thing of all times. Ducktales and Darkwing Duck were incredible. All you bronies should go back and watch some actual quality cartoons!

Yeah, I totally dropped the ball yesterday. I had an emergency meeting at the end of the day and (since I was working from home) immediately started doing other things. We’re moving in a month and started packing boxes. It was so late when I finished packing & eating dinner that night had already fallen!
Today at work will be slightly quieter so I’ll be around more!

I poked at ash to see what happened, and a little wagon formed. In the meantime, Nettie voted for me with joking logic, and then sherry followed her lead with the same logic either ignoring or not realizing it was a joke.
With nor much else happening DG and I both simultaneously voted sherry to see what would happen there. It sputtered, but for may enough votes for the kill. I tried to get reasons for any TDO and ash also voted for sherry (although TDO backed off) so we at least have something to analyze.
I bet the wolves were loving our godawful voting spread and mostly refrained from voting during that final hour.
Melissa appearing late and voting for someone with no heat on him strikes me as a villager because a wolf wouldn’t feel the need to make that late vote with the way things were progressing.

I agree the village did not do enough to force the wolves to make any sort of an effort last night. Only if nibbish were a wolf maybe? The one comment that stood out to me was TDO’s random list of people he exonerated for little to no reason. That seemed a little out of nowhere.

I would make a decent candidate for a wolf burn if I were actually a wolf, because of my limited schedule. I didn’t see a whole lot of that happening last night, though.
Also, since I’m not a wolf, I’m thinking that the first people we need to look at are the ones who were active towards the end of the night last night, but didn’t say a great deal of substance toward the very end/overtime.

Looking over a few of the votes, I notice that Viola changed her vote at the very last second to force a tie. Since we know that Sherry was a villager, it seems very unlikely to me that a wolf would have purposefully forced a tie unless Nibbish is also a villager in which case a villager dies no matter what. I don’t think I’ve played with Viola before though so, to me, that seems like a strange vote for Viola to have made if she were a wolf.
The flip-side is that Joe changed his vote to Sherry at the last minute of OT when it was already obvious that the vote had been confused anyway and Sherry was already dead. Why add that one in?

That stuck out to me upon reread as well. Also, I’m not totally comfortable with the “hey, guys, let’s go after these folks because they voted for a person who ended up being a villager!” bit he does in his post above. There were two villagers on the block at the end of the night – the wolves knew this. There may be a wolf among those that voted for Sherry (or me, for that matter), but there may not be. I’m more interested in motivations than I am in where the votes ended up.

I also found joe’s post immediately going after the voters odd. DPWY did other weird stuff other than his vote but he is always that way villager or wolf. DG was the only vote of the 3 I found odd just because it doesn’t fit in with his usual style.

Right. I’m certainly not exonerating anyone but the poor, deceased nettiebar (god rest her soul), but I think there are better things to go off of than “who voted for this person who ended up being a villager”. There are many times where the wolves see that the village has two villagers in the crosshairs and just leaves the whole thing alone.
That’s why we should look at people who were around late last night that didn’t put their votes in helpful places.

I don’t see what’s so odd with starting with the prior night’s votes. On the first day, everything is a crap shoot. Once we have a vote on record, we have some information to start from. That’s where I decided to start. Certainly it makes sense to look at those with meaningless votes as well.

If we think about this logically, the most likely wolves are the ones who were at no real risk all day. Basically anyone with 0 – 1 votes at the end of the day seem quite likely to be wolves since they was no reason to rock the boat at that point since things could have quickly swung in any direction rapidly.

Especially since if TDO were a wolf (he is near the top of my way too early list as well) he is in the perfect spot to swap off of him if things go south but by staying there he has a way to “exonerate” himself if TDO gets lynched at some point. I know this is a lot of conjecture but man joe feels so dirty to me right now that it is hard for my mind not to start to go off on track. I think I need to pull back a bit and start looking elsewhere before I get too locked in on one person.

What an effing day. I’m around and I think it’s interesting that people continue to say I’m saying we shouldn’t look at those guys. What I said was we should look at those guys LATER, not day one. Too many times we let the quiet players hang around and that’s too easy for a wolf to hide in.
DP and nettie were being active yesterday. I thought Nibbish was going back and for with the candor about maybe I’m a wolf or maybe I’m a wolf hunter. Which i cound see him trying to use that on day 1 since the wolves typically kill him day one, and when he lives nibs is pretty helpful in late game. So by giving a little smoke, the wolves would not want to kill him so early.
However, with todah and ash so hell bent to turn me clearly stating we shouldn’t focus on them so early as we shouldn’t focus on them at all makes me think they are trying to start a bandwagon.
I’m most certainly focused on ash, who immediately follwed my vote late last night then said they didn’t trust me out of the blue.

So I think there’s a few interesting things happening here. DP thinks that the vote on TDO & JP make sense. Ash is one of those voters. I realize that DP wants an explanation for Ash’s vote yesterday but if TDO is a wolf then Ash likely isn’t. So the vote on Ash is somewhat strange logic to me.

Ergo, ash is avoiding leaving any clues for us to analyze.

Since that is almost half the field it seems likely, but I just think this is a time wasting lead to follow. The wolves didn’t really have an obvious must kill target night 1 so they probably were just hunting for the seer and picked a random target (which if so would suggest to me that there is at least one veteran in the wolf crew suggesting such a play).

Yes, I went back and looked at every comment you made. I’m feeling more suspicous of you and now toda. You seemed to follow todah’s lead, which would only make sense:
1-if you are a newer player to Werewolf
2-You were both seer/angel, which is not true
3-You are a wolf trying to blend in with someone who is a known villager (to yourself)

My real problem is how divided up our votes are now. There is no pressure on people to come out and explain themselves, no organization, we’re going to go into the last 15 minutes with no additional info than what we have now and make some crappy guess. We need to draw wolves out, get them to take sides, state opinions, gain some actual intel if we want to stand any real chance.

The Sherry vote remains unresolved, and Ash continues to just say that Sherry was simply “suspicious”. Ash comes off very much to me like a new wolf who is fumbling around a bit and chose to go after a villager with whom he had previous history; someone he continually votes for so that it could look like a “joke” and not an attempt to take out a villager when he voted for her. Sherry was an easy target for Ash, and I could even see seasoned wolf partners pointing Ash in that direction during some kind of strategic night howling convention.
DG and DP also voted Sherry, but having played werewolf a million times, I agree with others that this means little. It was a soft first day, so it’s hard to tell what inspired either of them to do that. Not to say this doesn’t make DP a wolf because DP is probably a wolf. As previously pointed out, he did come in late to the game and provided very little that was useful–and DP is a historically a GREAT wolf hunter. I feel like he’d be a good night kill target typically because of his historical wolf-hunting skills, and yet he’s alive.
Joe had that last minute vote on TDO, citing a flub due to posting on his phone…which is not an excuse. More importantly, though:
YOU GUYS. NIBBS.
Yeterday, Nibbs hid behind a lot of silence, and then, in the most wiley way possible, pointed out to us this morning just how silent he was yesterday. He was already anticipating what the argument would be in response to his silence and stepped in to take suspicion off of him. His much more improved activity has definitely resulted in people then moving their eyes off him to other targets…that HE’S pointed out. Also, as Joe mentioned, Nibbs is a tenured vet who happens to be super smart and charming (I’M NOT PARTIAL AT ALL, GUYS), so I feel like, between him and/or DP, there’d be definite strategy behind an Annette kill. 1) Annette did focus a vote on Nibbs (and Annette WAS the angel and could have peeked that), 2) the wolves were potentially wiley enough to realize that they needed to go after a random person at night to try and take out the angel or seer, rather than taking out more obvious targets.
I really like the DPWY, Nibbs, and Ash combo. Just reading all the interactions above makes this seem the most likely. If I were to list anybody else, TDO and Joe seem fishy based on previous arguments but also because, if I’m right, and Nibbs or DPWY are a wolf, then it makes sense they’d put some pressure on at least one other wolf. It’s a typical wolf strategy, isn’t it, to misdirect by having two of the wolves pointing fingers at each other for later plausible deniability? So that could put some suspicion on TDO and/or Joe.

The way ash has been voting the past 2 days has just been too suspicious to me. I know I’ve jumped from person to person today but this is the best feeling I’ve had since today started.

I’ve skimmed today.
For those worried about my absence – I made it clear on the sign up post that I would have limited availability. Yesterday my wife had a small medical emergency and I had to drop everything.
For those that question my comment on DG’s availability, he too made it clear in the sign up post that he wasn’t available much. Funny how it was nibs and DP pointing that out, too, given the pressure they’re getting.
Also funny how DP makes the comment above about no one here hunting and all I’ve seen him do is try to put suspicion on people (e.g. Talking about how certain I am about dg’s availability when it was on the sign up post for everyone to see) without actually applying pressure. My vote is staying there for now

I don’t have a ton of thoughts compared to most games because so many people are MIA. Here’s what I’ve got, though:
-ash is offering nothing. He finally said he voted Sherry because of their past history (which is totally fine with me for lack of a better option), but now there’s the random nibbish vote with no explanation. That pattern of voting without reason is disconcerting.
-viola is also making lots of votes following the tide, but that seems more like newb villager than wolf to me
-Colin’s random pop-in to go after me (when I was trying to lure votes on me just to get people talking about something, anything) combined with his apparent knowledge of DG’s schedule is super, super wolfy
-I would like more investigation of nibbish and Melissa
-If codefox is a wolf, he’s doing a great job of playing like a villager trying to see what sticks.
-joepunman is pretty wolfy. He dropped away with the suspicions, there was the weird vote last night, the attempt to go after me this morning (I’m an easy wolf target because I’m always aggressive; sorta like spooky when he’s a villager)
-TDO is playing exactly like TDO always plays. Bizarre, but villagery
-DG and I voted at the same time for Sherry last night, so I’m not using that against him. Still, he’s been making a few subtle posts in which he’s pushing the same angles as me and I know he’s done that as a wolf in the past trying to flatter me into thinking we’re seeing the same thing.
-I haven’t seen any of todahshy’s wolf tells yet. Still watching for them.

I’ve been on DP all day, but my suspicions have also included todahshy and codefox.
Codefox has been joining on votes and made himself look bad, but tried to make up for it by pointing that fact out.
Nibbish and Colin and I have all given reasons for DP.
Todahshy has sparked my radar as well. But it’s harder to put my finger on why.
I’m usually scarce at night because I’m wrangling 6 children and dealing with bedtime and extracurriculars. So I haven’t had time tonight to go back and look and give specific posts as to why people have triggered my radar. I will try to do some tomorrow (if given the chance).
