I think that it’s great that we were right but also because Ash telegraphed that SO badly early on it killed much meaningful conversation yesterday. Also, because it was so obvious that he was a wolf, I would not be surprised if other wolves were in the ash train since there wasn’t another good target at all yesterday.

In about 20 minutes I’m going to be extremely quiet for the rest of the day. I expect I’ll be able to sneak some peaks here and there but I’m about to drive an hour to meet with a customer all day. Might be lunch through dinner. So I’ll put my thoughts I was having at the end of the night here.
As mentioned above, I think ash’s big tell early on made it easy for the wolves to hide yesterday. There was so little to go on that wolves could either let the village do their work OR they could ride the train to gain cred which seems likely to me. I have not had time to go back through the votes but I would look at who voted on Ash as votes 5 – 8 especially.
One non-ash voter that really stood out to me was DPWY. I thought his posts were mostly off target and his hunting didn’t seem especially focused. I’m going to start with him.

If Ash’s big tell made it so easy for the wolves to hide (and I agree with that statement), why would I as a wolf not just hide rather than keep trying to kick up stuff to see what happened? Obviously nothing happened (because the wolves had probably already cut bait from Ash).
If two other people jumped on my DG or todahshy votes to get them up into danger, then I would have been very curious as to their reasoning (because I didn’t provide one).
Instead, the most comment from Ash the I find most interesting is that one we he talks himself into almost voting for you but can’t pull the trigger. It’s like he was looking for the village to provide him an alternative while he can also say he was strongly suspecting you.

Code’s opening does seem wolfy. Whether that’s because it’s a real hunt or because Will is wolfy is the question; Will doesn’t seem all that wolfy to me but after yesterday and his off vote I can see him being a good candidate for wolves to go after.
I actually think Will’s off vote for todah (not to say it was wrong, but it was away from the wolf lynch) is nearly a village clear. I think Will would be all over the bus if he was also a wolf.

To kind of piggyback on what ZG mentioned…
I know Ash’s day one was terrible. He’s always terrible. But we usually don’t catch him quite so quickly. And that’s because he’s also terrible as a villager. So I’m not sure how much gloating can be done on knowing Ash was a wolf. As much as I love killing him right away, it’s usually because of his low activity level moreso than his terribleness.
This is all to say that it seems like code is trying to get credit for finding the obvious wolf when it really wasn’t so obvious that he was anything besides generally terrible. This could be because code knew he was a wolf because they’re partners.

Here’s the thing, what I see is codefox doing a lot of hunting things. Next I see he announces that he’s not going to be around to defend himself much and a bandwagon starts to form. Colin 1 starts it and Colin 2 piles on by saying he’s trying to take credit for wolf hunting, when in fact, that’s exactly what he’s doing. I like a wolf in one of those two at the moment.

At the time I was moving it in that direction, though, Codefox had plenty of scrutiny on him. If Codefox is a villager (which we don’t know, but we DEFINITELY know that ash was a wolf), then it would make very little sense for me to not give ash a chance to dig out from under it.
Plus, ash’s comments were all crazy wolfy, whereas Codefox had one or two, both borderline.

I think Ink is making an interesting case for both claiming today, assuming that in my fast read of this I understand correctly that the Angel could protect the seer and themselves for essentially the next 3 nights (2 for Angel). We would immediately gain 4 known villagers.
The down side is the wolves would just start eating the 100% known villagers. If we wait a day at least to get a claim then we reveal a higher percentage of the village as villagers. Today we’ll know 4 of 12 people (at best…Melissa could have been the one seen) Tomorrow we’d know 5 of 10 (at best). Worst case today is we’d know 3 of 12 and I think tomorrow would be 3 of 10 worst case. If we hope for the best case tomorrow we’d know the wolves are 2 among 5 people.
If the reveal happens today the best case is we’d know 4 of 10 tomorrow and worst case is 0 of 10 if the seer gets killed before then.
As far as Ink as a wolf goes, I’m seeing his game as similar to the game where I jumped on that train at the last minute. I’m not seeing it right now.
I also think that DPWY is at least having better posts today than I saw yesterday so I’m not really seeing today what I was feeling last night. I don’t agree with Spooky that the off vote clears him. I think he’s good enough to know how to look good as a wolf by not jumping on a train.
I should be able to get back on in a little while again so I’m going to leave my vote here for now to see where things shake out. My opinion on claiming, btw, is that I don’t think we should right now.

Lots of good reasons for both of these guys to be wolves.
Ink’s reasoning seemed more village to me at first because I thought it he was a wolf, nobody was doubting him so why bother with the claim?
Of course now I’m thinking more about the Angel, who has to be an enormous pain in the ass for the wolves. This is literally the best (and only?) way for the wolves to kill the seer anytime soon unless they get the Angel.
So ink’s gambit makes perfect sense in the case of a tradeoff.
I guess my question to nib would be, if you’re the seer, why not leave a breadcrumb in that list you posted? Even though it was a joke post?

So, I feel like Wolfson wouldn’t have much reason to claim unless he’s the superwolf. At this point, the angel is almost more dangerous to the wolves than I am, so he’d love to die by lynching, take the angel out, then let the last wolf night kill me. We obviously can’t let that happen.
In the meantime, I’ve cleared two people, the angel can self-aave, and the wolves could run out of people to point fingers at (they’ve already lost Codefox, which helps).

Sitting waiting for another concert to start. It has two more grades than I thought, so…yeah
Nibbish is treating me the exact same way I treat people often in this game, which is a hell of an eye-opener to how difficult it is to play with me. Humbling, gang!
Without being able to reread this game and having no good times to do so anytime soon (tomorrow is podcast night and Thursday is my anniversary), the one thing that’s most given me pause about nibs is how he keeps calling it obvious, which is dumb, but doesn’t seem like something he does as a wolf. His responses to me all day have been utterly worthless as far as making things clearer and if he really is the seer, that line that looks like a perspective slip is INSANELY poorly worded. And is extremely similar to the slip he made when he made the claim on me.
Kids are filing in now. I genuinely hope this goes too long for me to return.

Let’s say worst case scenario happens if we kill Pope (assuming he’s not the angel) and he’s a villager.
The angel could in theory save himself, both seers, codefox, and either ZG or KG (he could do both ZG and KG and risk himself as well).
Then we lose another unknown to a wolf kill.
But tomorrow we would have 10 people left:
3 peeked by seer
one seer
one angel who could claim (even though the wolves would not know if they used all of their saves)
one fake seer
And 4 unknowns – one of which is a wolf.
I like that much better than the odds if we kill Ink or nibs tonight.
Say we kill Ink and we are correct he is the wolf – he then kills nibbish.
Night kill is unknown villager.
We go into tomorrow with 9 people:
2 peeks
1 angel
And a 1/6 shot at the last wolf.

I understand the reasoning behind not killing nibs or ink tonight now.
However, we know for certain there’s a wolf in one of them.
I’m more in favor of working with what we know.
However leaving them both alive does allow us time to look elsewhere and time to parse out which we believe is the wolf.

So I think in retrospect, calling for the seer to claim was actually a really great idea. The angel should definitely NOT claim given the super wolf that is out there because that does give a shot at killing off the angel and seer tonight.

Sorry, Spooky. Didn’t mean anything by anything I said, but reading back, I went overboard.
In case the possibility of a superwolf wasn’t enough to dissuade people from voting Wolfson or myself, then at the very least consider that no matter which of us is the seer, the village gets a boatload of info by getting additional peeks and confirmed villagers.
As far as my case for being seer is concerned, would I have really brought up a potentially huge advantage for the village without any prompting? Wolfson countered that by having the angel claim, which does nothing at all for the village, and instead gives the wolves info. Todah caught that as being off, and Wolfson immediately claims seer.
Either way, neither of us should be lynched here, but we need to find a proper target.

So, what Karns is saying is that I brought up the angel thing (sure, maybe a wolf would do that to get villager cred) then immediately traded that villager cred in to get into a seer standoff? Where’s the benefit to me as a wolf doing that? If you’re trying for villager cred, you’re playing for the long game. Claiming seer puts an automatic cap on how long I can survive. There is a zero percent chance I’d do that right after giving the village something that benefits them.

2. We kill inkarnit today. Wolves kill another villager overnight. It’s eight v. two tomorrow when we take out nibbish and he takes out another villager. Then it’s seven v. one.
3. We kill Nettie today and she’s a wolf (or whichever rando we decide to kill happens to be a wolf) Game over because nibbs (or inkarnit) is math toast.
4. We kill Nettie today and she’s a villager. Angel self protects. Wolves kill someone else (let’s just say todahshy because he’s at the top of my unknown list without being involved in a seer claim). Then nine v. two tomorrow. Then we try to resolve the issue and kill inkarnit (and we’re wrong, we should have killed nibbish). Wolves kill another villager overnight. Then we kill nibbish and he takes someone with him (he could correctly guess the angel). Then there’s a night kill. At that point, it’s five to one. Of course, there would still probably be a confirmed villager or two standing at that point, but yikes.
I think we resolve this shit tonight.

If we resolve this tonight, then the Angel will have enough info to save two cleared villagers tonight and have them back for tomorrow. If we don’t kill them tonight, there’s a possibility the seer gets a peek of the wolves kill overnight and nothing is gained. Of course, there’s also a much higher possibility the seer gets a peek of someone not targeted by the wolves.

Yeah, I follow…I guess from that perspective he’s safe. And ink is right that proving I’m a villager doesn’t prove anything at all. Which is a fairly nice move for a wolf to point out. Why would a wolf point that out?

I don’t think we’re trying to force him into it. Just that we need to go somewhere, and he hasn’t contributed at whole lot. I suppose the 1/10 (we know Ash, Melissa, nibbs, and inkarnit aren’t the Angel) chance that he’s the Angel compared to todahshy (who has said he isn’t) makes it a little risky, but he was here and could have chimed in.
