This is where I left it before, and I don’t see that the case changed at all, except maybe got stronger since he was all “there must be a wolf between Adobery and Novak but I’m going to look over here instead”! (read that in voice that casts Nibbish in the worst light).
Spooky and Adobery jumping on together at the end reads especially bad, and the two of them sniping at each other afterward… well, it’s awkward for the rest of us. I’ve gone over it a couple times, trying to see if either of them implied knowledge of the outcome before it was posted, but I don’t read either as really slipping up in that way.
I’m also a bit thrown off by DPWY’s pull back of his vote. That seemed stagey to me, especially since he obviously was looking for, and noticed, the SAM reference. And Spooky even posted “majority” in his comment, so why pull back? Presumably he was trying to do it after Adobery’s vote, but before Spooky’s? That feels even more stagey.

I tried my hardest to understand DG’s game (and now that he was a villager, I’m extra baffled), and the acrostic thing came to me. (He found mine; I thought I had found his.)
Then I saw he was one vote from the brink, so I went to pull it back. I wrote several reasons for pulling back trying not to out the acrostic but I couldn’t find the right tone that I didn’t think would tip off the wolves. By the time I finally settled on my post, spooky had jumped in and voted. Then I figured no harm on sharing the acrostic to explain my move.
Chalk it up to more of the Sam difficulties because I was trying to tell Sam (well, the person I thought might be Sam) that I had spotted him without also telling the wolves the same. Beau, nice job flipping this game on its head with your roles.

That said, I’m not sure if you thought he was Sam why you’d even have your vote there in the first place, and why you wouldn’t be quicker to pull it back?

Hmm. I don’t know if I think Will’s a wolf. I know he’s been on my list of potential wolves before. I need to go through and read. I’m about to have dinner. So in about an hour, i’ll be back, and i’ll read for DP…see if I can find anything there that’s convincing.
I think Novak’s right that it’s good to ort of “shop around” with our votes. I think Ryan originally suggested this? So that we can hear from everyone.
And because we already know Novak’s a wolf (see: i’ve felt whole game like he really is one, and have little to back that up), might be intresting to look at others, cuz we can always get him last. For now, my votee stays with Novak.
I’m gonna look more closely, also, at Ryan and Pete, and perhaps Todah, if I can.

Just reread the period when DG was thrown in jail. Adobery seems to completely misunderstand my argument about the letters of the people for whom DG has voted. Instead, he suggests that I’m seeing things based upon the people who voted for DG (a list DG obviously could not control). Definitely reads like him trying to use the excitement to completely miss my (admittedly wrong) theory and throw it at me.

I did completely misunderstand your argument. I thought you were making a joke and picking out three names of 3 voters of DG and you said “really really really” so I made a snarky joke comment about signs from the universe. So I went and made my own joke to spell HARRY with the 6th character (inlcuding spaces) of the 5 people voting DG.
I wasn’t mocking what you discovered cause I didn’t realize what you had discovered. Once I knew you were talking about DGs only 3 votes he ever made, then I was applauding you finding it.
I don’t know what you’re thinking I was throwing at you. I certainly wasn’t accusing you of being up to anything, cause I just thought it was a light-hearted joke from the get-go.

Day one, adobery takes Novak’s idea for Norm to come forward and runs with it. Could be a little stagey (like a pre-planned discussion from the night before) if they’re wolves together. adobery later calls Novak’s analysis helpful. Novak votes adobery at 920 for being “too agreeable” with the Norm discussion; says he prefers that to voting a silent player.
Day two, Novak starts on adobery right away (although nibbish had already voted there, too). adobery responds that he’s getting in trouble for being agreeable when todahshy was even more agreeable. When beezy votes Novak, adobery requests a reason multiple times pretty quickly (to be fair, I’ve also made that request multiple times throughout the game). Novak says he found it weird that there was no traction day one for an adobery vote when there was some traction for a Novak vote despite him thinking adobery was being so agreeable with him. As others start pulling votes away from adobery, Novak keeps arguing we should stay focused on him and says adobery too quickly hopped onto a vote for Melissa. Beezy calls Novak wolfy for staying on adobery. adobery responds and says he voted for Melissa quickly because she was around, and he was trying to push her. adobery moves his vote to Novak just before 800. Novak finally unvotes adobery and switches to todahshy at 844.
I’ll look at the other days tomorrow. The battery in one of our smoke detectors just died, and in the process of replacing it, somehow the fire department was dispatched here… so that was fun.

Runs with it? Stagey? My first response was to Beezy explaining how the wolves couldn’t just kill Norm off at night, and arguing the validity with her.

This was 7 hours later when I was commenting on the only notable things that stuck out that day when there was so much inactivity. “Novak was helpful pointing out the role claim, and Beezy has been arguing against it. I think the role claim benefits the villagers more than the wolves, but whatever.”

I put a vote on Todashy to poke him and so pointed out 2 examples of Todsashy being agreeable Day 2. You make it sound like I was saying Todashy more agreeable with novak on day 1 than I was.

Multiple times = 2. I posed question in nested section, the asked again in a standalone post 20 minutes later. We’re in the poking stage and I wanted to get her to give reasons since it wasn’t the first time she voted him like that and wanted her to actually put something out there other than “a feeling”.
I don’t have any comments on the rest of your info, cause I don’t even know what you’re trying to say with it. At worst this post feels a lot like mashing up a bunch of information to make things look bad, without providing enough context. At best, you just found things that stuck out real quick and didn’t have the time/energy to provide your insight on what you think each thing means. You offered “stagey” and “to be fair i’ve done this”, but not much input. I don’t care for the vibe of this post.

Okay, spent a good bit actually going through individual people’s posts for the whole game. About 2 hours and I didn’t have time to do them all.
Will
Started here just because of his recent day 5 post re: novak/adobery.
Day 1 — Spooky exchange seems innocent
Day 1 — Pokes nibbish cause in favor of actives
Day 2 — Suspect nibbs cause of way he wanted to get vote down to avoid strike
Day 2 –Makes a list. Melissa/Strat both on there as wolfy for lack of substance. Pun wolfy. Me wolfy for emoting about Norm being dead and ruining game. Feels fairly good about rest. Novak villagery cause bringing up Norm role claim.List sounds fine.
Day 2 –First to start votes on Strategery with valid reasoning.
Day 3 –3rd vote on Punman
Day 3 — Reitterates he thinks Novak is villagery.
Day 4 — Says non-reason votes are driving him crazy (amen)
Day 4 — Suspicious of Novak for thinking adobery/nibbs wolves, but switching vote off adobery to nibbs
Day 4 — Does a nibbs/adobery lookup
Day 4 — Late unvote of DG. Wants to pull back cause he’s on the brink.
Day 5 — Accusing me of throwing his DG (MAS / SAM) theory back at him (in an evil way?)
He’s really had me leaning villager early in the game. He reasons for suspecting and his questions of people all seem normal. I want to give him villager cred for snuffing out Strat. I just can’t give him total villager cred. While he was the first on Strat, it wasn’t some totally damning accusation. There is still room to leave the door open that he was just poking Strat wolf on wolf, but Kelly’s observation of a tell made the vote take off and it snowballed, leading to unintended wolf lynch consequences. I don’t lean that way, but I can’t ignore it.
Day 4 / 5 are the only times he seems weird at all to me. The explanation of his late unvote was mostly fine. He wanted to know how to phrase why he was doing it, without tipping off and SAM stuff. But I want to ask him, if you were scared of the vote being at a tipping point, why not just do a quick unvote, then follow up shortly after with another post with your reasoning? Isn’t it more important to do the unvote or get your reasoning out carefully first?
I did think the MAS/SAM thing was a great catch. Given it’s DG, it’s not surprising if that’s what he did. I just don’t like the weird accusation of me trying to twist(?) that somehow and throw it back at him? I totally misunderstood what he was saying and thought it was a joke. I don’t know why he thinks I was being evil in my response. Course since I misunderstood him, its only fair he misunderstood me.
So most of his gameplay says villager to me, just some weird issues lately.

Reviewed him next cause we had a more than one interaction where I was being seen as wolfy, so it sticks out to me naturally.
Day 1 — Nothing to go on. He just did a vote on novak to avoid strike, otherwise no participation
Day 2 — Finds my responses Day 1 seriously off-kilter. Backs off a little to “curious” and softer adjectives when I question him. He find my response to his accusation less wolfy.
Day 2 — Thinks my oops misread of his post with a vote to poke and quick retraction one I realize mistake felt like a setup. He retracts on a re-read.
Day 2 — Makes list. Thinks Melissa is wolfy cause of lack of substance in posts like Will thought. DG wolfy. Adobery he’s back and forth on. Rest villager, with beezy a certain villager.
Day 2 –Thinks Puns comments are wolfy.
Day 3 –Voted punman early and finds Punmans response to it wolfy. His eval of Pun’s response seems valid to me.
Day 3 –Makes valid points about how nothing wrong with killing Harry.
Day 4 –Thinking either Novak or Adobery is a wolf.
Day 4 –Posts wondering if there is anything to be read in my certainty in my response to Inkarnit about Punman being a villager and not a wolf in the death post. How is it not clear? Regardless of Beau putting (fuzzy) in parenthesis which I thought was obvious was Coach’s fuzzy thinking due to experiencing a stroke…the name was listed as Ernie Pantuso. If we lynched a wolf, the name would have been listed as someone evil (Gary and his friends). Coach was clearly a loved Cheers character. I dunno, really weird posit to make even if the death post did make you double take. Fine. But to throw it out there as a reason to question my wolfiness?
Day 4 — Says he starts the day thinking I’m wolfy. My wall post of (worthless research) thought is there. Makes the deathpost post about me thinking wolfy. Then makes this post https://spookymilk.wordpress.com/2019/03/14/werewolves-at-cheers-day-4/#comment-91015 — where now I all the sudden pretty villagery. The research post was there before he started making other wolfy assertions in teh morning, then states the research makes me villagery. Just seemed abrubt and weird.
Day 5 –Nibbs back to one of Novak/Adobery wolf.
Overall, most everything but his interactions with me have seemed pretty villager. Again could be skewed because I was being accused by him so it seems wolfier. The language of “seriously off-kilter” in what i thought was a harmless day 1 exhcange with beezy/novak seemed a bit strong, and he softened the language later. Then day 4 exchanges with me.
I wanted to do Novak and Todashy and maybe get to Spooky, but at this point it was getting too late. So I did Melissa and Beezy since I knew there wasn’t much to look at content wise.
Melissa
Day 1 — Couple day 1 joke posts. Innocent Day 1 Nibbs vote.
Day 2 — Makes generic sounding post about how to find wolves in this game
Day 2 — Some basic analysis of a couple players, but still prety generic
Day 2 — Is feeling wolfy nibbs/novak
Day 2 — Responds to nibbs suspicion of her on his list
Day 2 — Generic wolf/villager comments
Day 2 — Puts down Strat vote at end of day
Day 3 — Suspicious of Nibbs/Punman
Day 3 — Thinks Todashy is villager cause he was first to get on Strat (no…he was actually the 3rd. 4th only if you count beezy voting strat, which didn’t seem like it was because of any of the discussion gong on)
Day 3 — Thinks Novak could be Harry or villager
Day 4 — Absent til after the votes taht ended the day really early.
So not a lot of contribution. Her contributions also don’t offer a lot of strong villager logic. Not a lot of substance as others have said. She’s just not really helping things much, or providing enough interaction for helpful village analysis. So this puts her in wolf radar territory. Could be just life getting in the way, but has to be considered.

Not going to list out a lot of posts or anything, (cause most of them are Novak votes :)) but just all her odd stances.
— Thinks Norm role claim is more beneficial for wolves
— Stuck on Novak wolf without much but “gut feeling”
— Misread Punman’s post where he posited how Gary would act in the game. She thought he said Harry. This was her major basis for thinking Punman was Harry and a vilalger.
— Wanted to know how it was possible that Nettie died before the game started
— Was stuck on the Strategery vote switch to Novak as a reason Novak is a wolf, rather than it was Strategery self preservation
— Stuck on Harry dying was deterimental to the village
I gotta think she’s a villager due to her vote switch off Novak onto Strat when it was 3-3 (aside from my crazy theory). A lot of her stances seem unaware to one game rule or another. If she was doing it on purpose to seem villagery as a wolf, she’s being very consistent with it.
The only thing I really didn’t care for was late on Punman’s lynching day, after I pointed out Punman was talking about Gary. She responded realizing she’d made a misread. I asked her a followup then if that changed her view of Punman as a villager, or if there wer other things that made him seem villagery to her. Those reasons could ahve been helpful to avoid a Punman lynching (unlikely). She probably didnt’ see it, and made other posts after that, but still wanted the info. I also which there was more Novak reasons than gut, but she did provide a few, even if kinda flimsly (strat vote switch).
Sidenote: I’ve read her posting “I always like a Novak vote” so many times, I can’t but help but hear “There’s always money in the banana stand” when I read it. 🙂

I wouldn’t say I did lots of clearing. Beezy, ya. I’m feeling better about Will now after his explanation. I still think if he was really concerned about a SAM vote a quick pull would have been more prudent then researching first, but it seems ok.
I’m not clearing Nibbish, just admitting my being the target of his most wolfy sounding stuff could have me biased.
Certainly not clearing Melissa.
I dont’ have a problem with a Novak vote, Melissa vote or Nibbish vote. I still want to be able to go back and look over Novak, Todash and you yet so maybe I’ll get a clearer picture of everything. Just don’t have the time at the moment to be thorough.

I checked my phone and saw that you put DG on the brink. I walked myself though DG’s votes one more time because I didn’t want the game to end just on case DG was Sam. I stumbled onto the acrostic and then unvoted him as quickly as I could in a way that I thought wouldn’t make it obvious to the wolves about what I saw if he actually was Sam. (This whole process happened within fine minutes of your vote.)
I didn’t expect spooky to place a kill shot within that time period given that no one else has posted (besides Beau) for a half hour and that the kill shot was based on another player’s misunderstanding of the rules.

Also, you’re right – I think we both misunderstood each other about the DG/Sam thoughts. Yesterday afternoon I was still pretty fired up about how the DG vote went down (even after he was cleared it seemed reckless to me and I was still mad that I that we didn’t get time to explore that incorrect breadcrumbs I thought I found), so I think I was projecting some of that into feeling like you were making accusations about me that, with more time, I can see you weren’t actually making.

What would we have explored? If you stumbled on SAM and thought he might be Sam, pointing it out to anyone would have negated it’s intent. There’s no benefit to anyone sharing their thoughts on who they think is Sam or not Sam. Only gets him killed.
If it was a Sam fake as a villager, then talking about it negates the use of it, unless you want to talk about sniffing out a wolf.

Novak/adobery day three:
Novak starts the day trying to steer votes back to adobery when punman already had three votes before 9am. Reason was because adobery never signed his vote off Novak onto strategery the day before. Wolf trying to avoid piling onto a villager who seemed likely to get lynched? Novak calls adobery’s research into strategery “easy work” that doesn’t much a big difference. Spooky and todahshy both suggest Novak could be Harry. Novak denies later and continues to argue that adobery’s failure to vote strategery on day two was was wolfier than punman’s day two. Adobery pushes back and says Novak was never in trouble in day two (because no one was making a case against him), and that strategery was lynched before he needed to change his vote anyway. Says he just wanted to have two leading vote-getters. Novak links to a Melissa post to show he was being threatened. Here sooner days he would have moved to strategery if Novak was actually being threatened:
Novak moves vote to punman when he leaves for the night. Adobery says he recalls Novak in post games never letting go of a theory once he has it.

Novak/adobery day four:
Adobery creates a last and says Novak’s day to argument about feeling imperiled is wrong because Novak could always switch his vote to strategery as self-preservation; points out Novak used that exact reasoning for his Colin vote on day one. Novak responds that the vote needs to be on the context of the night deadline. Novak’s first vote is for adobery yet again. He says it’s weird that other votes for him haven’t gained much traction despite adobery being under a lot of pressure throughout the game. Says the research into strategery’s tell is easy wolf work to look helpful. He switches quickly to nibbish with the theory that adobery and nibbish are wolves together. When I ask him why switch votes, adobery points out that he hasn’t gained any traction. Adobery says he was about to vote nibbish but won’t because he doesn’t want three in nibbish so quickly (weird given that he posted the fourth DG vote a couple of hours later).

The difference is voting nibbish was to get some poking/discussion going on Nibbish. With DG there were already concerns with his absenceness. Given what I said about his absence would mean in any given role, villager and Sam didn’t make a lot of sense. Thus not nearly as worried of a push on him. I didn’t want the day to end early like that. That just kept us from more discussion and pushing multiple people and getting input to look back on later.

You know, the phrase “tripping alarms” comes from a time when old Scottish homeowners would lay a board across the bottom of their door, so that if someone came in, they’d hit the door, and it would make a loud noise, thus, literally tripping an alarm. The uh, the thing about it, is that a lot of these old manor houses were very large, and the owners had servants, so that a lot of times, when the owner would finally arrive on the scene, they’d think the servants, who naturally got there first, were the ones who had tripped the alarm. Thus, they would wrongly fire the servants, while the, uh, real perpetrator got away. Which is where the phrase “Scott Free” came from too.

In my way of thinking, Spooky, Beezy, and Todah are, if not confirmed villagers, then close enough that for now we should be looking in other avenues.
That leaves Will, Novak, Adobery, Melissa, and I. THere are almost certainly two wolves in this fivesome.
I hesitate to even include Will, because in my view, he’s been maybe the strongest villager out of the lot. He’s playing like he’s got nothing to hide. I feel like that’s because…..he doesn’t.
I can’t get a handle on Adobery. There are lots of circumstantial things, like his off-kilter tone and super high stress level that point towards wolf, but his actual gameplay has been very villagery. That leaves us…
Melissa and Novak. I said yesterday that I felt that there was a quiet wolf. I feel like Melissa is it. There’s practically nothing to go on in her game other than a few votes towards me that had nothing behind them. She hasn’t even shown up for a couple of the days.
Novak’s game looks a lot dirtier when laid out a little bit, I think (Adobery didn’t include Novak in his rundown, which is a bit odd, but there’s a lot to unpack, and it’s not like I’ve gone back over anyone’s game with a fine toothed comb). Some of the things which initially scan villager, like his defense of Punman on day three and his hesitance to jump on the DG vote read more as knowing the results of those votes (and the cleanliness of the targets) beforehand and positioning himself to look as clean as possible. Villagers often aren’t afraid of looking dirty with a third or a fourth vote on someone they think is dirty, but wolves often hold off.
My list, arranged from wolfiest to least wolfy, therefore:

Well, I gotta be honest with you guys, I’m not sure what nibbish is talking about when he refers to my hesitance to jump on a DG vote. I, uh… I suppose it could be my natural effervescence, that he feels he can read me so well, but I never addressed wanting or not wanting to vote for DG. I was putting my pressure on the people I felt were likely wolves, then I left for a while, and came back and it was night already.
I’ve also not held off on a vote at any point, and have consistently been putting votes down on someone I think is dirty, regardless of whether it’s the first, second, third or fourth vote, etc.. Point of interest, the word “forth” as in “go forth and multiply” is deprived from the number, four, as in a family that has four kids has multiplied the original two parents.
Anyway, the most interesting part of this to me is that nibbish seems to be simultaneously justifying what he’s doing (putting the third vote on me) while pointing to reasons that, if we’re gonna call a spade a spade, just don’t exist. And, uh, there you have it.

Ah, but here’s the thing, Nibs, if I can call you Nibs. As any good armature historian knows, you gotta go back to the actual historical record. And when you examine that record, what you’ll find is that I was last there at 11:51. That was my last comment on the day. There were 2 DG votes at that point, and fairly minimal discussion (there was talk of Harry, and DG’s joke time stamping, for example). I didn’t say much, because I didn’t have anything to add and wasn’t around all that much. Then Todah voted DG at 1:23, and adobery and Spooky shortly thereafter. So, really, the written history tells us all we need to know about this. I wasn’t avoiding anything, I was just mostly absent yesterday.
Meanwhile, you’re ignoring DPWY who noticed the SAM thing and didn’t remove his vote. Why even have that vote there if you think he’s Sam? That part of it is something I can’t explain. There is zero upside to putting a vote on Sam if you’re a villager who thinks he’s found Sam.

He has mentioned multiple times since then that he only figured that DG was a possible Sam after going back over it closer to the time where Spooky put the kill vote on. In my mind, it’s much less of an issue than some of the others.
As far as everything else, the vote was between DG and I, and you were around and engaging in other parts, but ignored the DG vote entirely. I don’t think villager!Novak bypasses that argument entirely, but it’s a potential quagmire for a wolf — especially if you wanted to engage, but were hoping to take me out that day.

On the other point, I really wasn’t around most of the day. I was there a little in the morning, before the DG thing really got start. I came back and was around for just a very short bit and responded to a few things directly. (Look at my timestamps – they’re all in quick succession). I wasn’t avoiding a DG thing. And since we know now that DG was a villager, if I was a wolf, there’s no way I’d be pushing for villager-nibs over villager DG. I’d take whatever was coming my way.

I too would keep Will far from the head of the target list. I think I’d favor Melissa as a wolf but she’s too null to tell. I genuinely want Ryan to be a wolf for the wow factor, but I came to the conclusion today that he’d have to know wolves have won repeatedly by playing it straight, and an effort like this would be overkill.

I think it really damages the village when we have absent players this late in the game. A quiet wolf makes sense, especially given the players who I think are absolutely clean (Todah, Beezy). I feel like Nibbish going to the mat for DPWY up above felt very villagery, even as I disagree with his characterization of my game.
I’ve gotta hit the road really soon. There is almost zero chance of me getting back tonight (I’ve got a thing in Olivia I need to get to, then drive back, then the school play).
So, being off of Nibbish (and DPWY… now that I understand what actually happened there), that pretty much leaves adobery and Melissa. Adobery has been active, and obviously we’ve been on him. If he is the wolf and continues to skate, good for him. I haven’t given Spooky enough of a look (again, busy, and I picked Todah as my one to look at this morning), but nothing stands out as being super wolfy.
So I’ll put my vote on Melissa. It’s a process of elimination vote, but I think it’s in a good place.

I made an emotional move, on account of i’m REALLY not at my best right now, and was feeling like Kelly’s anger post toward my continued insistence on Matt was uncalled for. A note to mod/mods of future: If a day ends early, and it’s not like down to the final 3-4 players or something. Don’t announce the kill and move on to the next day. I think the game is better served by whatever talk might happen if the normal time period were to play out.

Also, if everyone is not around, then when is the wolves “night” talk period? If everyone is not around we make suppositions based on who the mod could have even got a hold of to let them know it was going to be night and they could talk.
