The villagers are all seated, waiting for the Priest’s sermon to begin on this Good Friday. They are growing restless.
“Has anyone seen the Priest?”
“I wouldn’t know him even if I saw him.”
One villager notices a part of robe peeking out from behind the pulpit. He gets up from his seat to inspect it.
“Lord have mercy!” exclaims the villager, “It’s the Priest. He’s been..descerated..oh, I can’t look any longer.
A brave few come to examine their fallen leader. The floor is awash in blood that has gushed from where TDO was impaled. Ornate crucifixes are jutting out from his neck and his chest.

It’s another sunny morning in Taciturnsville. The villagers head towards the town square.
“What in the blazes is that?” someone asks.
In the middle of the square there is a dazzling light. A rainbow of colors radiate in every direction. A few of the braver villagers shield their eyes and cautiously approach the mound of light. As they get close enough, their bodies block out a little of the sun and it becomes clear it is a body. The body of violabeenice.
“It’s viola!” those nearest her shout. The others approach.
“Wow, so pretty.”
“Oooooh!”
“Yes, I don’t think I’ve seen a bullet-proof vest as beautiful as this one.”

The village gathers in the square. Two dead bodies are there. They once belonged to nibbish and nettiebaron.
“Looks like they tried to claw at their attackers,” someone says.
“No, it looks like they died practicing their secret handshake,” says the Priest.
“Everyone, everyone. Nevermind those two. I have great news!” Codefox says while bouncing up and down. “I am engaged to be married! Let me introduce you to my fiance, BigPapaJonTheElf. Isn’t he so handsome, and strong, and brave, and stealthy, and handsome?”

What a scare last night. I had closed my eyes for just a moment, and woke with a start, ready to rush out to the bulletin board. But just then several villagers stumbled past my window, the stench of homebrew close behind. Our local Procyonidae expert was among them, praising his mates for their exuberant attempts at replicating the coon mating call…in not so many words.
So I had let the drunken foolery of some of my more upstanding citizens seep its way into my dream. Quite a vivid and disheartening one at that. The villagers had suffered misfortune at every turn, their every choice playing right into the wolves hands. They were handicapped by the very rules and code of conduct I had put in place to help defeat our cunning enemy.
I will take heed of my subconscious. I have already begun rewriting our constitution and putting even more rules into place so that we might avert the terrible disaster of my nighttime imaginations.
I dare not let spookymilk ever come across this journal. I might be lynched on the spot for having such convenient dreams.

It has been nearly two weeks of vigorous study, quizzes, and role play, but I think the villagers have a firm grasp on the new rules. I think we are prepared, and not a day too soon. Several villagers went out on a hunt this afternoon and came across the carcasses of several deer that had been torn to shreds. They swear that the tracks in the area were unmistakably those of werewolves.
I have called night early and sent everyone home in preparation. Bless us father, whoever you are.
