As the title indicates, this is the final immunity challenge of Survivor XIX. First, let’s note that whether or not there are any idols or advantages left in the game, everyone who received one was told that the final five Tribal Council was the last time any could be played. Therefore, winning this challenge is assuredly the only way to ensure you will advance to the final three and have a chance to argue your case to the jury to be the winner of Survivor XIX. The three of you who don’t win this challenge will have to sweat out one more elimination, and one of you will be the last juror.

Now for the challenge. It’s one of my favorites, and it’s called Zookeeper. Our good buddy Matt Novak wrote up a big set of rules for this game, which are here.

In short, the goal of the game is to end up with the most money. Each “day” consists of 3 rounds. In each round you will select 2 actions. The basic actions are “Acquire Food” “Build Fences” “Update Habitat” and “Acquire Animal.” You can select the same action twice within a round if you want to. You will be awarded various quantities of each of these items in each round. The distribution of those quantities can be found here. There are also special actions, described in the directions.

Then, at the end of each day, you will need to feed your animals and collect your earnings. The amount of food required and the amount of money you earn for the various items is described in the second tab of the previous link there.

Here and here are a couple examples of what this looks like after a game. Look at that Norway guy, he knew how to play this. On the other hand, that joker Gaspar did terrible, didn’t he? (Actually that second board might not be from the very end; Novak may have just tallied up the final scores without updating the board, but whatever).

The player with the most money at the end of the game will win Immunity and be safe into the final three. This takes a little while to update each turn, so to give myself and you guys a chance to get into the swing of it and figure the game out, we’ll do one “day” for each of the first three days this week (Monday through Wednesday). Then we will probably speed up and do “days” 4 through 7 on Thursday and Friday. So your first “day” of submissions will be due Monday night (tomorrow) at 8 PM Central.

Okay, Survivors. Read the rules, get familiar with them, ask me all your questions, and good luck.
