Who ran the first Christmastime? Colin Prime? I’m pretty sure it was three years ago. I can remember going on my beer run just to get away from a seer claim for a few minutes. Seems like only yesterday…
Sixteen raucous children surrounded the tree, bedecked in their jammies with booties, with hearts full of mirth and joyous…noel, and such.
“I hope I got a bike!” Baconburgerdogs said, eyeing one of his presents gleefully.
“And a Hot Wheels for me!” MBNovak said in Elvish, knowing that wherever he was, Santa would understand.
Ornaments adorned the tree, calling each boy and girl out as being nice enough for a gift in 2015. However, all was not well. There were rats among them, who would just as soon steal your Hot Wheels and ride them to freedom.
It’s serious business, village. Christmas has never been lost to the Naughty at CdL! Get into the Christmas spirit! Find a naughty child, and beat him to death with your new baseball bat or Barbie Dream Car.
There are 12 villagers and 4 wolves. No neutrals in this one, because I didn’t feel like coming up with a neutral role. NIGHT will fall at 9pm Central.

It was pointed out to me that the village could potentially break the game by all claiming to be naughty boys and to choose a death target. Yesterday I was going to type that villagers couldn’t falsely claim to be naughty boys, but I didn’t because I couldn’t remember why this might be a problem. Well, this was it. So anyway: you can’t claim to be a naughty boy unless you actually are. Fakers will be mod-killed.

Basically the village started discussing the wolf roles and I think Pete or Colin came up with how one of their special roles could end a game early and win.
As a wolf, I did not even think that deeply into the role and did not realize the exploit until the village mentioned it. And wouldn’t you know it, we got to use that exploit to win the game!

I think it just depends on the specific rules. There have been games where rules discussion has helped the village as well. Especially when new players have villager roles and veteran players are wolves. In fact, I should start a new post with some quick advice on Santa so we don’t have a tragedy.

Hey, in case we have newbs (not sure if we do) and a newb is Santa, you should be careful as to when you notify us of your peeks. Too soon, and you die with no benefit to us. Too late, and you never get a chance to tell us. Generally day 3 is a good day to come forward but that can change if you successfully peek a wolf or two or you are about to be lynched.
What other roles do we have? An angel. That’s pretty simple. And the uber role. The one that can just outright eliminate two people. That seems powerful. And spooky, can those two people be eliminated in the same day or only once a day? Does it even matter?

In posting that last one I had another thought. Need mod clarification here. Todahshy should particularly enjoy this post!
There are three naughty boys. So if two come forward to eliminate Lupita, the village knows those two wolves obviously and lynches one of them. That leaves two remaining naughty boys who could then eliminate Santa or Pedro the following day.
So can the naughty boys power be used only once? If it can be used more than once, can it be used twice in the same day? Can Lupita use her power AFTER the naughty boys target her?
Or is this all irrelevant because then 3 of the wolves would be outed? Depending on the landscape at the time, it may not matter.

This is a pet peeve, and maybe others disagree, but I would encourage people with questions for the mod to email them to the mod rather than posting them in the game.
Otherwise this ends up in a discussion of one’s motives in asking the questions and it takes away from the actual game of werewolf.

At best a synonym. But certainly not an antonym. This is entirely a different thing. Throwing heat on someone in Werewolf is pushing them to respond to wolf allegations whereas throwing shade on someone merely indicates that one is speaking poorly of the subject. This COULD be the same thing, but isn’t always.
ie. everything ever said about me is generally shade whereas Melissa is actually throwing heat my way by straight up calling me a wolf

Well, this day turned into a series of small headaches… and it looks like I’ll be AFK for much of the evening (church tonight… I might be going tomorrow instead – the wife and I need to divide out mass times)(back before deadline, either way, but possibly not much before).
Anyway, I’m much more concerned by Colin Prime’s absence than anything else right now. I mean, baconburgerdog is doing the whole “new player who doesn’t show up” thing, which leads DPWY to argue a temporary exoneration of him, which leads me to point out that whenever you make a rule like that the wolves can exploit it, which leads to him saying “but we don’t learn anything if it was a wolf” which leads to me saying “we don’t learn anything on day 1 votes usually anyway, wolves can keep exploiting this loophole” which leads to him positing that new players probably will screw up anyway, which leads to my argument observing that new players never ever win as wolves. (We may have had this argument once or twice before).
Anyway, baconburgerdog should show up. But so should Colin Prime.

Not that I disagree with MOST of this but…
I refer you to Werewolf: AssButt Town wherein new player inkarnit was a wolf. And won in a sweep. Granted, I had DP, Colin, and meat to support me. But baconburgerdog could be a quiet newb wolf with a crew of vets too!

To me, the obvious villagers (or people I can’t read) are ZG, Bacon, tdiddy, Sherry, and Joe.
Brooks is always a good candidate for wolf. He votes Novak, which any sane person would, therefore making him seem innocent. He’s mostly being his usual Manic Pixie Dream Brooks, though, including outright declaring himself a wolf. Which…he does when he’s not a wolf. Okay, so maybe Brooks ISN’T a wolf.
Pirate votes Inkarnit, which I’m down with, but he gives a nonsensical reason. In fact, he’s done little to nothing in terms of argument, and usually he’s hardcore lawyering it up with why people are wolves or not. I’m suspicious of this one, but I’m contractually obliged to be.
Novak says we should have a Hannukah Werewolf, which is extremely out of character for one of Santa’s most Catholic elves. He then claims he’s “in court all day”, which is a good reason not to talk himself into being Wolfy. He’s either a wolf or an imposter.
Annette is very, very quiet. Probably the seer. We’ll find out next round.
Toady votes Bacon Dawg. Then he goes into an argument about wolves benefiting from holes in rules, shortly after talking about holes in rules. He boldly declares wolves scaredy cats and also implies KG is not a wolf as if he knew this pretty strongly. He knows A LOT rather strongly. Then he goes out of his way to declare himself NOT a wolf, along with Inkarnit, who just does that because Inkarnit isn’t too smart. To be honest, Toady is the most wolfy of them all.

I see the Punman thing that DPWY pointed out, but I… I also see that it’s a bit of an obvious set-up. And of course it would only be a set-up if I’m wrong about Colin. And DPWY seems to know that it’s a set-up, implying he knows about Colin. Of course, DPWY was also the person voting for Colin at the time. But unvoted and pointed toward Punman. The children, now aware that there were naughties in their midst, started accusing other people because that’s what children are good at.
“Joe Punman is a naughty!” one sneering child accused.
“Wait…why?” Joe asked.
“You’re always a naughty, and we always kill you for it!” the toddler continued.
“Actually, I’ve literally never been a -”
It was too late. The children opened Joe’s toy – a book of the 150 Best Puns Ever Written – and shoved it down Joe’s throat.
Unfortunately, loving puns doesn’t automatically make a person naughty.
